Cozy season is upon us and I am in love! Here are the books I read recently and what I thought of them. This post is just in time for you to find a new favorite book of yours, cuddle up and read!
A Court of Thorns and Roses Series (books 1-5) I know these books have been hyped up a lot lately and I have to tell you that I am obsessed with this series! They are so good I had a hard time putting them down when I was reading them. One thing to note, though. The first book is good but not amazing. The second book is where it gets SO good! These books are a little spicy, just so you know. I give this series a 5/5.
Inkheart Series I was browsing around the library one day and saw Inkheart. I read the first one as a kid and didn’t love it. I wanted to re-read it as an adult to see if I like it now or not. I also never realized they wrote more in the series and wanted to read the next two. They were fine. Apparently I just don’t love this book series! I would give them a 3/5.
Beautiful Things, His Grace the Duke and Alcott Hall (The Second Sons Series) I DO NOT recommend these books. I did not read the description well enough to realize what I was getting into. They were so bad I sold them, and I am not one to part with my books. I don’t mind spicy books but these were horrendous. I give these a 0/5.
Lavender Blue Murder I love Laura Child’s Tea Shop Mystery books! They’re set in Charleston and are very charming. I actually don’t think they’re the best written books but I love the pictures that are painted, the interesting characters and the setting the stories are written in. They’re easy and nice to read. I give this book a 4/5.
Throne of Glass Series This is another set of books that has been hyped up recently and is the same author of the ACOTAR series. I loved the ACOTAR series so much I just had to read these! I liked them but didn’t love them. I much preferred ACOTAR. I give this series a 3/5.
Taboo I prefer fiction but I do read nonfiction once in a while and this one is definitely worth the read! It is about hot topic issues in the world that are hard to discuss with others and how Christians should respond to them according to what the Bible says. I love how the author, Mike Novotny, brings up a difficult topic, responds to them with passages in the Bible and reminds people Jesus gives His grace to everyone. I highly recommend this book and give it a 5/5.
The Daisy Chain Flower Shop Ok, back to fiction! This is the newest release from the Dream Harbor books series and I loved it just like I loved the other books from this series. They have nice stories and are easy to read. It’s like reading a Hallmark movie with spice. I give this book a 5/5.
North and South This is a classic book and I am surprised I never read it before! There is a BBC channel mini series based on this book I recently discovered and loved, which is why I wanted to read the book. I definitely recommend this book and give it a 5/5.
