Americana Prep for the 4th of July

Hi, y’all! The 4th of July is this week and I’m super excited for it! This Summer holiday is all about gathering with friends and family and enjoying a warm day off. The theme for this holiday is, of course, America, which makes me want to share with y’all an outfit that includes the traditional 4th of July colors.

An easy and comfortable red and white striped knit T-shirt pairs wonderfully with a pair of simple navy shorts and goes perfectly with nautical accessories. This shirt is J.Crew’s Striped Boatneck T-Shirt which they always have. I can see why they keep bringing it back- a stripe shirt like this never goes out of style and the quality is superb (it does not stretch out no matter how many times you wear it because the knit is more structured than a standard T-shirt). I’m wearing XXS in this shirt and it fits perfectly- I’m so happy J.Crew makes sizes that fit well on petite people! Mine is a year old but you can find an almost identical one here (the one in this link has a slightly wider stripe plus it’s currently on sale)!

My shorts are the 5″ Callahan Short from Lilly Pulitzer. My pair is about 2 years old now and has been a comfortable and durable Summer staple. I’m wearing a size 00 in this short and I do have to wear a belt with them otherwise they have a pretty large gap in the waistband. Adding some nautical touches to your 4th of July outfit is a must for me- nautical embellishments have Summer and preppy written all over them! My necklace and bracelet are both from Charming Charlie. I just bought this necklace a couple of weeks ago and it looks like they are currently sold out but I found a very similar one here– plus it’s also on sale!

I bought my bracelet last year but have found a similar one here. I may have to get this one, as well! I love the nice details, like the colors twisted together and the adorable anchor clasp they added! The quality of my bracelet is better than this price point would suggest. I basically wear this bracelet all Summer and it still looks brand new!
