A Weekend Full of Flowers and Flamingos

Hi, y’all!  I had a very busy, but fun, weekend!  I did very quintessential Summer weekend activities such as going to the zoo, attending a concert and buying flowers, vegetables and fruit so I could work on my garden!

On Saturday my husband and I went to the Milwaukee County Zoo for his work’s annual picnic.  It was a lot of fun!  I love going to the zoo- I get to walk around for hours (which I love) and look at adorable animals. It was a beautiful day and my husband and I got to spend some quality time together!  Flamingos are one of my favorite animals to see- they’re funny to watch and they’re pink!

At night we went to a Cody Jinks concert at The Pabst Theater in downtown Milwaukee.  We love Cody Jinks and the show was great!  He has such an amazing voice-  he and his band are extremely talented.  The opening acts were also great- Ward Davis and Porter Union.  The Pabst Theater is also a beautiful venue- if you have a chance to see a show there I definitely recommend going!

Sunday morning I went to the local greenhouse, 3D Greenhouse in Mukwonago, to pick up flowers, vegetables and fruit to plant in the afternoon.  I am definitely an amateur gardener but I’m learning and am getting better every year!  I love going to this greenhouse- they have a great variety of plants and garden accessories and I love supporting local businesses.  I ended up getting a bunch of purple and white petunias to make my own flower baskets, two different types of peppers and tomatoes, watermelon, and romaine lettuce.  I can’t wait to eventually eat everything I planted!

I decided to wear something cute, casual and comfortable to walk around the zoo and go to the greenhouse.  My shirt is from Gap- it is a comfortable, easy and a cute staple to throw on.  I tied it in a knot to add an extra cute detail.  I have this shirt in XS which is a little big on me but it works for an easy T-shirt.  You can find a similar version here.  My lace shorts are from Hollister (bought last year) and they are a great Summer staple.  They’re comfortable and look great with so many different outfits.

I hope y’all had a fun and productive weekend as well!  What did y’all end up doing this weekend?!
