Happy Memorial Day, everyone! This weekend is the unofficial start to Summer which means it’s time to break out all of my Lilly Pulitzer! I must confess- I’m addicted to Lilly. I love the bright colors, fun prints and preppy styling. I just can’t get enough!
On Saturday, my husband and I went to our community rummage sale. Almost everyone in town participates and it is a fun, local event where you can simply walk around the town and enjoy the beautiful weather, and it certainly was a lovely, warm day. I was even able to wear shorts without freezing! We then went to the local flower shop and hardware store to get mulch and pretty Summer flowers for the yard- gardening is a perfect Memorial Day Weekend activity!
I decided to be casual and comfortable because we knew we were going to be walking a lot and I also wanted to wear a shirt that wouldn’t be destroyed if I got dirt on it from the flowers and mulch. I love these Buttercup Scallop Hem Shorts- they are very comfortable and the scallop hem is an adorable accent! You can find this short here in a different prints. Sunday was all about running regular weekend errands- I certainly can’t escape those, even on a holiday weekend! The morning was rainy and a bit chilly so I decided to wear a light weight sweater with a different pair of Lilly shorts. By the afternoon it warmed up quiet a bit and then sun came out- it turned out to be a very nice day!
I wore the 3″ Walsh Short for my Sunday excursions. I like these shorts because they are comfortable and the length is perfect- they are short enough that I don’t feel frumpy but long enough that I still feel covered. I couldn’t resist the flamingo print when I saw these- I love pink and flamingos! You can find these shorts here in a different print. Lilly also offers these shorts in a few more prints plus solids.
Monday is the barbecue day! The day was windy which made it a bit too cool for shorts so I opted to wear my white jeans and Skipper Printed Popover. I have been obsessed with these popovers the moment I first saw them and finally got one this past Winter. It has been sitting in my closet for months waiting for it to be Summer so I could finally wear it!
Needless to say I love it! I am definitely going to buy more. The weight is great for a chilly Summer night when the sun goes down. I also love the zipper pull detail, the stand collar and the overall comfort of the garment. You can find this popover here in different prints- they offer so many wonderful, different prints!
