Getting Organized for the New Year

dsc_0612

Hi, y’all!  I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year- I sure did!  Lately everyone is talking about New Year’s resolutions.  I am all about being organized and would like to share an easy and extremely useful way to get organized.

Own and keep on top of a planner.  I reference my planner every single day and I wouldn’t know what I would do without it!  Buy one that is large enough so you can write down everything in it.  I absolutely love my Lilly Pulitzer planner– you can find the same one I own from Paper Source!  Lilly Pulitzer pays a great amount of attention to detail with their planners- they have monthly calendars, weekly calendars, vibrant artwork throughout the entire planner, large note sections, fun sticker pages and so much more!

Here are some important pointers that will make your planner useful… Check your planner every single day, numerous times a day- this will help you remember everything you need to accomplish today and for days to come.  Write down EVERYTHING, even if it is a menial task- write it down!  You will feel like you accomplished something when you get to cross that task off.  Keep your planner next to you at work and keep it open at home- having it easily accessible and viewable will help you remember to look at it.

Color code your tasks- I use different colored highlighters to separate things I need to do at work, things I need to do at home, social obligations and when bills are due.  Having a color coded system lets you easily differentiate things from a glance.

I hope y’all follow my tips to get organized for the New Year!  How else do you stay organized?

P.S. Outfit Details- Banana Republic Cardigan- you can find a similar one here.  Vineyard Vines shirt- you can find a similar one here.  American Eagle jeans found here.  Pearl cluster necklace- this one from Charming Charlie is very similar.  Coach watch from Jared found here.
