Honey Strawberry Short Cake

Summer is the perfect time of year to make strawberry short cake! I made a healthier version of this yummy dessert where I swapped white sugar with honey.

Ingredients

cooking spray

1 1/2 cups flour

1/4 cup honey

2 tsp baking powder

2/3 cups milk

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

your favorite berries and whip cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray an 8″x8″ pan with cooking spray.
  3. Mix all ingredients, except berries and whip cream, in a mixer.
  4. Pour mixture into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Once done, let cool for 10 minutes in the pan on a wire rack. Loosen the sides of the cake and invert onto the wire rack. Cool for 30 minutes.
  7. Cut into 16 pieces and serve with your favorite berries and whip cream.
  8. Enjoy!
