I made this cute felt acorn pouch with my son (he’s 5) and he absolutely loved making it and using it now that it’s complete! Here’s everything you need, step by step instructions and a downloadable pattern to make your own acorn pouch.
Here’s everything you need for this project:
- 2 different color pieces of felt (I chose a tan and dark brown)
- 1 button
- embroidery floss
- pin
- embroidery needle
- fabric scissors
- my downloadable pattern (found below!)
First, cut out the paper pattern and pin to the felt. I chose to make the stem and back piece the dark brown and the front piece tan.
Second, sew the button to the front piece.
Next, pin the front piece to the back piece and whip stitch with the embroidery floss.
Lastly, cut a button hole in the back piece to create the flap. Fold the stem in half and sew to the back. Now you’re all done!
