Travel Guide to Cedarburg, WI (Kid Friendly!)

Every Summer, my sister and I like to take a family trip together for a few days. Which means we’re traveling with 4 adults and 3 kids! This trip means so much to me because I want our kids to grow up together and have these special memories as adults.

We chose to go to Cedarburg, WI this year! If you’re not familiar with Cedarburg, it is an adorable little town about 30 minutes north of Milwaukee. Here’s where we stayed and everything we did!

We chose to stay together in a house that was one block away from downtown Cedarburg. We found this cute house on Airbnb and it was a nice, affordable place to stay. We got to town on a Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning.

After we settled in, we got dinner at C. Wieslers upon a recommendation. This is classified as a “saloon and eatery” so it is kid friendly with a few tables. The food was really good but the service was a little on the slow side, but that might be because it was a Friday night. After dinner, we walked down to Amy’s Gourmet Apples and picked up a few treats for the kids. Then we went back to the house and enjoyed the evening together.

Saturday was our “exploring” day. We started off the day having breakfast at the house and walked around town after lunch. We had lunch at Cream & Crepe Cafe, which is my and my sister’s favorite lunch spot when we take a day trip together to Cedarburg. The food is always really good and is located in an old mill that is now filled with cute shops, a winery and restaurants.

We then went further into the downtown area and checked out more adorable shops and enjoyed the old town charm. Although we did not get afternoon coffee this day, Fiddleheads Coffee is my favorite coffee shop in Cedarburg. We then headed back to the house for the kids to rest and nap.

Cedarburg is known for its historic wooden covered bridge, one of the last ones in the state. After the kids were rested, we headed over to Covered Bridge Park to check it out! The bridge was cool to see and learn the history, but there are no play structures for kids so we did not stay long.

To end our Saturday, we picked up a pizza from Sal’s Pizza and brought it to Cedar Creek Park for the kids to eat and play. The pizza was really yummy and the kids loved the park! This park is very close to the house we were staying in and you can tell the city keeps it nice.

We left Sunday morning so we hung around the house and then headed out when we were ready. My husband, son and I took a detour to Holy Hill on the way home because it’s sort of on our way back.
