Simple Fall Porch Decor Tips for a Small Space (+ Mom Friendly!)

The leaves are turning quickly here in southeastern Wisconsin and I’m loving it! Decorating for Fall is one of my favorite things to do, especially when I get to decorate our porch. I’ve always wanted a front porch where I could get a cozy chair and table set on and able to relax on at the end of the day, and this house finally delivered! I guess third time’s the charm! My decorating style inside and outside tends to be simple- I like to add cute touches here and there but I don’t like overwhelming a space, especially since I don’t have a lot of storage. Here are few tips on how to make your porch look Fall festive while keeping it simple!

Don’t move the big pieces! It’s easy to get caught up and want to completely overhaul a space. I like my big items, such as the chairs and tables, to be in neutral finishes so I can work around them for all seasons and not worry about having to store anything.
Add little Fall touches to your space! You don’t have to have your porch overrun with pumpkins and wheat stalks. Having too much on your porch can make the space unusable and feel overwhelmed. I like to add small pieces, like a cute Fall pillow to my chair and a few pumpkins scattered about, to accent the area and make it feel festive.
Add a few real mums (this is also great for moms)! I like to have a few real mums on my front steps because they’re the quintessential Fall flower. I don’t like to have too many because I don’t want to spend half a morning tending to them. Us moms don’t have time for that!
Another tip for moms- have the kids pick out a few pumpkins! CJ picked out all of the pumpkins on our front steps. It was a fun activity for him to do and he gets excited every time he sees them now!

I hope these few tips help make your porch, no matter the size, feel Fall festive! The most important thing about decorating is how you feel when it’s complete.
