Redecorating for a season change is one of my favorite things to do! My style overall tends to be on the classic and simple side. I downsized from a home that was twice as big as my current one so I prefer to have pieces that can be used all year. Here are some of my tips to keeping your Fall decor simple and fun!
- Find pieces for your home that can be utilized in different ways. I hardly ever move my “foundation” pieces- I decorate around them. For example, have neutral vases that look good in your space all year and then change out the floral arrangements for the seasons.
- Keep it simple. A few pumpkins scattered around the home will make your space feel like Fall is here without giving up precious table or floor space!
- Add scent! I love having a seasonal plug-in and candle in my home. Scent is a great way to make a house feel like a home. Guests also find a pleasant smelling home more inviting!
- Don’t baby proof (this one’s for you, mamas)! CJ is almost 2 and I have never baby proofed my decorating. I have taught him that he is not allowed to touch certain things, like the vases on my coffee table. I do put out things he is allowed to touch and play with, such as fabric pumpkins. By teaching him what he can and can’t touch is a fun way for him to be involved in the home while also teaching him rules and boundaries.
That’s it for now! Have you finished your Fall decorating yet? Comment below- I would love to hear your thoughts! And make sure to sign up for emails, and follow me on Instagram and in the LiketoKnow. It app for my latest posts!
