Whimsical Nursery Reveal!

Hey guys- I hope you all had a great weekend! So many people have asked me what I have done with CJ’s nursery since we moved so I wanted to share it with you guys! We moved when he was 4 months old and pretty much had to start from scratch because of the size difference compared to the last house. So here we go!

I worked as an interior designer for about 3 years before Peter and I decided it was best for me to stay home with CJ. It was a tough decision for me to make but it was the right move for our family. Because of my design background, I was more than happy to have to redesign his new room! I think a nursery should have a touch of whimsy so I made sure to add fun details like this cloud wallpaper, fish basket and fun growth chart!

His original room was a nautical theme, which I did keep, but needed a few new things that worked better in the new space like this rug and these bookshelves. We kept the big pieces such as his crib (a petite friendly crib btw), changing table, side table and antique rocking chair (which belonged to Peter’s great grandma). I love a light and airy room so I decided to paint the walls cream to keep it bright and happy. Luckily, CJ has two big windows in his room that help the space always feel light and open!

Once I had a cream base I added in touches of light wood, navy and grey to tie everything together. I am a firm believer on keeping things simple so I only like to incorporate a handful of colors into a space so you’re not overwhelmed when walking into a room. I also always like to add a pop of greenery in the space to add more life!

That’s it for now- thanks for reading along! I love how this space turned out- it always makes me happy when I walk in here (and CJ sleeps extremely well in here so that’s a plus, too)! What’s your favorite piece about this space? Comment below, I would love to hear your thoughts!
