My Loft Reveal!

Hey, y’all- I’m so happy to announce that our loft is finally finished!!!  This room has been sitting with random furniture in it, practically empty, for the past three years that we’ve owned the house.  I’m so excited that it’s actually a useful room now!

Below’s a before picture.  This picture was taken from when the old owners lived here.

And here’s the room now!  We both love the modern farmhouse style (Peter because of all the black/iron/metal used and I because it’s open/light/clean) and we also decided to add in a touch of a ski lodge theme because we live right behind a ski hill.  The patio door up here has a perfect view of people skiing in the winter!

This room has become our family room with the big TV (Peter insisted we needed one that was at least 65″- what is with guys and big TV’s?!) and all of our game consoles.  This big red locker was (found on Craigslist- it was from the local high school and only $25!) fits all of our movies, video games, controllers, etc. in it!  I love that it has so much storage and everything is hidden away neatly when we are not using it.  It might be my favorite piece in the room!

I wanted this room to be nice and cozy which meant lots of pillows, throw blankets and a fake fireplace!  Pillows with red accents coordinate perfectly with the red locker- you can find the Tree Throw Pillow from Target here.  I draped a buffalo check blanket across the back of the couch and stacked more throw blankets on my grandma’s sled she got when she was five.  The fake fireplace is rom Wayfair- I’m in love with it!  Not only does it display a realistic fire but you can also turn on the fan that blows out warm air- perfect for chilly winter nights!  This exact fireplace is sold out but I found for y’all a similar one here.

I love this accent chair from Wayfair, too, in the corner but maybe not as much as the kitty cats!  As you can see, Blake was lounging on it until Whiskey came along and kicked him off… bad baby cat lol.  They were sleeping on the chair together a couple of days ago so that’s progress!  You can find a similar chair here.

P.S.
