What I Use to Straighten My Hair

What I Use to Straighten My Hair

And it’s Monday again… but that means my first blog post of the week is here!  I’m sure y’all have noticed but I have naturally very curly hair and like to straighten it, which takes some time.  Try two hours… but that does include washing it at least!  It also takes the proper tools which I’m going to share with you today!  As a refresher, here’s my hair natural.

What I Use to Straighten My Hair

To start, I wash and condition my hair.  I then dry it with a T-shirt because my hair is so fragile, especially with all the heat products I use, and then put in Redken’s Smooth Down Heat Glide for extra heat protection.  I then use the Revlon 1875W Frizz Control Hair Dryer with the Drybar Round Brush and then work my hair in sections until  it’s all dry.  You can pick this hair dryer up at Target for less than $15 and it works great!  It has high, medium and low settings; a cold shot button; and it comes with a bonus concentrator nozzle.  It’s exactly what I want in a hair dryer (easy to use and light weight), plus it’s pink!  The Drybar brush works great with this hairdryer- it helps straighten the hair and improves drying time.

After my hair is all dry I finish straightening it with my Remington 1″ Flat Iron.  Again, I like this flat iron because it was simple to use and gets the job done well.  It has six heat settings (up to 410 degrees) and takes no more than 30 seconds to be ready.  The one I use is sold out but you can find the newest version here– and it’s less than $20!

I finish up by applying OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum to my hair, a touch of hair spray if needed (usually when it’s super humid) and I’m good to go!

That’s it for now- I hope y’all have a wonderful week!
