Skylar Belle Ryen Lemon Print Swing Dress Review

Hi, y’all!  I have been in love with everything lemon-printed lately so searched far and wide for the perfect lemon print dress for Summer.  I looked at many different places and finally decided on this Ryen Lemon Print Swing Dress from Skylar Belle!

I chose this one because the print is bright and airy for Summer (a lot of the dresses I saw had black details on them and I don’t like wearing black in Summer), the style is versatile because it can be worn belted or unbelted, and it was priced well.

The first time I wore it I paired it with gold and white earrings, a universal pearl cluster necklace (this is a staple accessory for me- I think everyone should have one of these!), my gold Coach watch, a gold sparkle glitter belt and gold wedge sandals.  I received numerous compliments on this dress and will be wearing it often this Summer!

Now, a few things about the dress itself when I received it (I ordered size small, as a reference).  It was mailed in a bag and needed to be ironed badly, which was fine but doesn’t necessarily give off a great first impression.  As I was ironing it I noticed the serged side seams had to be trimmed at the armholes because there were very long tails hanging and you could see them through the chiffon.  When I tried the dress on the back loop that holds the button closed broke which was disappointing, but an easy fix for me (I just hand stitched the loop back together and now it seems fine but no one wants their new dress to break the first time the put it on).  When I first tried it on I was barefoot, had no accessories and was unsure if I liked it.  The front hit just above knee length on me, because I am petite, and the swing shape was not very flattering on me but I believe someone who is taller would be able to wear it as a swing dress because it would hit higher up on their leg.  The armholes were also very long on me (they clearly show the sides of my bra) but that can’t be avoided on this style dress because there is no stretch to the dress and you would not be able to get this on if the armholes were smaller (I proved this by trying to pin them to be smaller and could absolutely not get it on).

Despite all of these things, which I do not believe are huge issues as they were an easy fix, I do really like this dress.  Once it was ironed, belted, accessorized, fixed (the back loop), and I put on a white cami so people couldn’t see my bra, I was very pleased with this dress.  The print is perfect for Summer; the dress is light, airy and very comfortable which is great for hot weather; and I love that the back is made out of chiffon and it is slightly longer in the back than the front- nice detail!  It also came with an extra back button which is always nice to have.  Shipping was also fairly quick- I received it 6 days after I ordered it.  Overall I would absolutely recommend this dress!
